Or for the more adventurous there are activities to enjoy such as mountain hiking, cycling, kayaking, golf or horse riding. Or perhaps just take a donkey for a stroll in the hills.
Home from home
Gite le Pastourel is a large three bedroomed farmhouse with private swimming pool which provides comfortable accommodation for 6 to 7 adults. The fully equipped kitchen will allow you to prepare meals or even bake a cake and the cosy living room is a great place to relax with a DVD or some music.

The gite is fully equipped for self catering including a range cooker, dishwasher and washing machine.

Gite le Pastourel was opened by Ann O'Leary and Ian Terry after they moved to the Ariege in 2014.
It didn't take long to discover the attraction of this area and the Val de Lesponne in particular. This magical place, with it's magnificant views and changing light is a well kept secret. Sitting in the garden, overlooking the lines of hills marching towards the border with Spain, it feels like you are a million miles from civilisation. Tranquil and unspolit. But for the practically minded, it's actually only 10 minutes from the nearest boulangerie and a few more to Foix - the departmental town of Ariege with restaurants and supermarkets and the Friday market.
Ann and Ian live on site in the smaller section of the property (on the RHS as you look at the house) and are available for help or to answer questions. They will need to potter around the garden to tend the plants and maintain the pool but otherwise, will keep a low profile and allow you to enjoy your holiday in peace.

Le Gite le Pastourel a été ouvert par Ann O'Leary et Ian Terry après leur déménagement en Ariège en 2014.
Il ne leur a pas fallu longtemps pour découvrir l'attrait de cette région et du Val de Lesponne en particulier. Cet endroit magique, avec ses vues magnifiques et sa lumière changeante, est un secret bien gardé. Assis dans le jardin, surplombant les lignes de collines marchant vers la frontière espagnole, on a l'impression d'être à des millions de kilomètres de la civilisation. Tranquille et dépourvu de politesse. Mais pour ceux qui ont l'esprit pratique, ce n'est en fait qu'à 10 minutes de la boulangerie la plus proche et à quelques minutes de Foix - la ville departmentale de l'Ariège avec ses restaurants, ses supermarchés et son marché du vendredi.
Ann et Ian vivent sur place dans la plus petite partie de la propriété (à droite en regardant la maison) et sont disponibles pour vous aider ou répondre à vos questions. Ils devront se déplacer dans le jardin pour s'occuper des plantes et de la piscine, mais ils resteront discrets et vous permettront de profiter de vos vacances en toute tranquillité.
